Bill is working as hard as he can, but he can't seem to make his quota for proofreading three books a week. He has the same quota, resources and works under the same conditions as those on the staff who are making and exceeding the quota. Would punish him, perhaps with a written warning, for not making his quota? Why, or why not?
Marcy is also not making her quota. She used to be make it all the time, but not in the last week. The reason seems clear in that she's come in 30 minutes late everyday and she's also left early two of the days. She offered no acceptable reasons and knows it is not acceptable. Would organizational punishment be worth considering in this circumstance? Is this any different than the situation with Bill?
Would a PAP be advisable for the guy in the picture to the left? Why or why not?
